Update: ICYMI:Conservative Chat: Congressional Candidate Matthew Corey 10/27/16 7PM Charter Cable with direct link to show online

The original link, will no longer bring up this episode, but the interview can still be viewed at this moment, by going to the Charter website www. ctv13.net although it involves many hoops to see the program.

As I write this, an interested viewer or voter, can go to the home page, click watch programs, and use the search bar to find the show. However, “Conservative Chat” with or without the apostrophes will only bring up ‘no results found.’

The Charter Studio manager who does a great job for us, told me he wasn’t sure why, but now only if someone logging on to the site puts in Conservative, without apostrophes, will the search produce results, and bring up the show’s last two interviews.

Even if you click on the play arrow to watch the show, nothing will happen. When I first started to post this, I noted one had to scroll down a bit to “program information” and within that box, could click the arrow and watch the interview. That arrow has now disappeared, too. The Charter Studio manager has since wrote me has corrected some of these issues, but anyone interested in watching an interview online, still has to put only the word Conservative in the search bar, or one can click on either of these two links recently provided:

“Conservative Chat” – a show brought to the public from the Barkhamsted Republican Town Committee and airs in six local towns Thursdays at 7PM, on Charter cable channel 191, is uplinked online the following week of the original broadcast, at www.ctv13.net

This latest episode features First Congressional Republican candidate, Matthew Corey, as he challenges the entrenched democrat opponent who has been in Washington since 1999.

Mr. Larson, is still perceived by some voters as a moderate democrat, but he left that group far behind many terms ago. A higher up in his caucus leadership, he has been in lockstep with liberal, Nancy Pelosi (CA-12 ),  both when she had the title of House Majority Leader and now House Minority Leader.

In this latest program, Corey and Simone talk about the many issues the democrat’s under President Obama’s two terms, that have harmed our country, our military, our values and overall view of America across the world – from both our allies and enemies.

Candidate Matthew Corey, a hard working small business owner who has invested in Hartford, owns both a skyscraper window cleaning business and a tavern. Clear on policy, he makes many comments in this show that cover everything from the failed program of Obamacare, the immense national debt the Connecticut federal democrat incumbents never address, the excessive taxation the democrats have also burdened our citizens with on whatever income level, and Donald Trump, and what in his view, are his best policy plans if elected.

Barkhamsted, CT – The Lion’s Club held its annual Independence Day parade today which was met with a large attendance that consisted of local residents and area enthusiasts who enjoy this Norman Rockwell style event, that is a throwback to true Americana. The Barkhamsted Republican Town Committee float had State Senator Kevin Witkos and First Congressional candidate Matthew Corey on board. Witkos is serving his fourth term as the representing senator of district 8 and is also the Senate Minority Leader Pro Tempore in his caucus with the Connecticut General Assembly. The senator also owns a restaurant in Canton and holds a part-time position with Northeast Utilities.

Matthew Corey, is a businessman who runs two companies, a bar in downtown Hartford, McKinnon’s, which Corey opened in 2002, and a skyscraper window washing firm, Advanced Services International which was created in 1990. He is challenging embedded democrat John Larson for a second time as the Republican nominee, but first faced Larson in 2012 as an Independent. Corey is also a navy veteran.

The parade also had floats from the American Legion’s Riverton Post 159, local churches, the Barkhamsted Historical Society, of course, the Lions Club, and a variety of others, many who were new to the line. First Selectman Don Stein (D) also participated and made the rounds.

Following the fire engines which traditionally close the parade and are driven by Barkhamsted’s finest, the event closes with music played by the star band, a group of volunteer musicians who only meet on this one occasion each year to play patriotic songs that include the “Star Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful.”

Tribute was given to the Barkhamsted Baseball Youth League and a prayer was recited by the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church minister.

Thanks to veteran RTC member Ernie Little, Mark Carotunti for the use of his Dodge Ram heavy duty truck, and former RTC Chair, Dave Moulton, for helping decorate the float today…as well as my son and his good friend for throwing candy to the crowd.

Riverton Fair brings out Tom Foley and other candidates seeking votes

October 11, 2014

Barkhamsted, CT – Gubernatorial Candidate Tom Foley, Secretary of the State candidate Peter Lumaj, First Congressional Candidate Matthew Corey, State Senator Kevin Witkos, and State Representative William Simanski all came to the Riverton Fair this past weekend to meet residents and speak with them about their concerns in this poor economy. The Barkhamsted Republican Town Committee reserved space on the fairgrounds to promote their candidates.

Friday night, kicked off the start of the fair’s 105th year of holding this event which began in 1909. Friday is considered ‘local’s night’ and is largely attended by Barkhamsted residents. Secretary of the State candidate Peter Lumaj, First Congressional candidate Matthew Corey and State Senator Kevin Witkos (R-8) all were on hand to talk to attendees about the upcoming election November 4th, and answer any questions they may have as voters. Most people who stopped by all expressed the same message which consisted of overwhelming taxes, increased by sitting Democrat Governor Dannel Malloy and his majority legislature, the high unemployment which had at least one family member jobless, and the punitive nature against small business owners that barely allowed them to stay in business or made them go under.

Saturday, Ambassador and businessman Tom Foley dropped in and talked with numerous voters and vendors who all told him how much he was needed now in our state of Connecticut. Thrilled to meet Tom, some took selfies or had staff take their photos with Mr. Foley, but also told him personal stories of how much the democrat majority in the General Assembly over the decades, and now worse with Malloy in the Executive Branch, have hurt their families and/or businesses. Tom, a great listener, and personable candidate who truly cares about Connecticut and its future, spent as much time as needed with anyone who was happy to have his ear.

Sunday closed out the event, but the RTC booth was busy with fair goers who asked relevant questions and asked for candidate’s literature and lawn signs. The Republican ticket, including some candidates who are also endorsed by the Independent Party, can only hope Connecticut citizens recognize the dismal state it is in appearing statistically time and time again as the nation’s worst place for business, employment, retirement, taxes, gas prices, etc. and recognize it’s time for a change with new leadership.
