Tune in this evening to watch the Connecticut Republican U.S. Senate Primary Candidate Debate with hosts Dennis House and Jodi Latina. The show begins at 8:00PM and is being brought to you by WTNH Channel 8 New Haven and its sister station WCTX.

All three candidates who made the ballot at the Connecticut GOP Convention in May will be participating. Barkhamsted RTC endorsed Peter Lumaj, State Party endorsed Themis Klarides and RNC member Leory Levy.

Many of our town and area residents have met Peter over the years as he’s come to our events and many of you voted for him in 2014 as the party nominee for Secretary of the State. Peter received almost a half million votes in that statewide race which included crossover and inner city votes along with Republicans. If you’ve missed any of Peter’s many recent radio appearances, or television appearances, go to his campaign website to check some out. Peter has been a contributor to Fox News Network, Newsmax and Sky News for six years. Peter also marched in our Independence Day Parade this July.

How you can watch the debate tonight since it is not airing on WTNH Channel 8, but on its sister station WCTX. If you’re a Charter Cable subscriber, Channel 9. If you’re a Comcast Cable subscriber, channel 59. If you have satellite TV, Dish or DirecTV, or do not have cable, you can watch it livestreamed on WTNH.com or on the WTNH News 8 Facebook page.

BRTC Endorsed U.S. Senate Candidate Peter Lumaj is on the Primary Ballot

State Convention News and other updates

May 15, 2022

As the Chairman of the Barkhamsted Republican Town Committee, I’m very pleased to inform our website visitors that Peter Lumaj, Candidate for the United States Senate, received above the required votes needed to be on the primary ballot this August. He entered the race after confirming with other possible people interested in running, that they would not be seeking this seat against Richard Blumenthal. That said, his two opponents both changed their minds seeing the opportunity of a red wave in 2022.

One because the Governor nomination was going to 2018 gubernatorial nominee, Bob Stefanowski, though this was her original filing for office. The other because there was a prospect of winning despite never having run for anything before that required district or state votes, but being the new RNC representative after the long-serving Pat Longo retired, feels her contacts in D.C. will help her get the nod.

Our BRTC has been long time supporters of Peter Lumaj. An amazing individual, who came to America from communist Albania in his early twenties to find freedom in the U.S. at great personal sacrifice. He is a glowing example of a naturalized citizen who through very hard work became a successful man, husband and father who loves this country. A Constitutionalist, Peter supports all of the Constitution as written and the individual freedoms and rights it provides.

You probably already voted for him in 2014 as the State Party endorsed nominee for Secretary of the State, if you’re Republican, Unaffiliated or a moderate Democrat. His statewide campaign received almost a half million votes! More than any other candidate who ran for this office since 1994.

But, that’s a lot of votes. Much more than the six thousand average votes the State Party nominee on May 7th had to acquire to keep her State House District seat for twenty plus years. In fact, her best year vote wise as an unopposed incumbent, was the bump she got from President Donald Trump in 2016, at almost nine thousand votes, and she apparently remarked she didn’t even support Trump in 2020. The other opponent has received no votes failing to run for any office before. Another candidate who largely was anti-Trump before his nominating her to be the Ambassador in Chile, failed to get through the Senate nominating process twice. She is, however, a large donator to Republican campaigns she supports.

Peter Lumaj, is the United States Candidate who can beat Richard Blumenthal in November. His unique and long story is a direct contrast to what Blumenthal and the current administration are pushing. Peter’s message is to abide by the Constitution, keep federal government intervention with our independence at a minimum, and to bring Connecticut back to the tax free, prosperous, innovative and business friendly state it used to be.

To be fair, I am paid staff, and those of you who know me on either side of the aisle, know I would not work for anyone I did not believe in. In retrospect, most of my work for the GOP has been unpaid. Many tell me all the time that they miss my cable public access show “Conservative Chat” that was shown on Charter for fourteen years and aired in six towns. Thank you for this and your comments that it was a really well done half hour political interview program. There are maybe a dozen up on YouTube, including time with Peter Lumaj. Check them out. I may bring back the show in the next few weeks as there are many good candidates you all should consider voting for in August and November.

Want to see or speak with Peter? He will be at many upcoming events in our area and throughout the state. He has also been a commentator on Fox News and Newsmax among others for six years, can be heard regularly on local radio stations and has an upcoming interview with Dennis House this Sunday, the 29th. Peter Lumaj Republican Candidate for Governor Addresses Barkhamsted RTC

Peter Lumaj, CT Republican Candidate for Governor 2018

January 15, 2018

Barkhamsted, CT

The Barkhamsted Republican Town Committee held its first meeting of the New Year, with guest Peter Lumaj, Republican Candidate for Governor. The committee has always been inspired by this conservative Republican who stands on strong principles and is a firm supporter of the Constitution. Barkhamsted’s three delegates at the State Convention have always cast their votes for Lumaj.

In 2014, Lumaj, ran for statewide office as the Republican Secretary of the State candidate. Lumaj’s opponent, an incumbent with a long history in the Connecticut General Assembly who was close to her party leadership, was tough to beat. However, for someone new to state voters, Peter appealed to people across the board, and gained almost a half million votes with his message for change in corrupt election law.

Now, as a candidate for Governor, in an open race since sitting Democrat Governor Malloy is not seeking a third term, as the most unliked Governor in the United States, Lumaj is one of many seeking the Party nomination.

In his view, he said in the second debate held in Hebron last week, “I am the only real Republican on this stage.” As a man of conviction, vision and who as an outsider can take office without any binding strings beholding him to the status quo in Hartford, Barkhamsted Republican Town Committee members endorsed him Monday night. A few members who also planned to cast their votes for Peter, were unable to attend but support the committee’s decision.

An upcoming interview on the Barkhamsted RTC’s Charter cable show, “Conservative Chat” hosted by Chair Juliana Simone, now in its fourteenth year, can be seen with Peter Lumaj. For those outside of the viewing area, this program can be seen on YouTube. Please check this post for links when available.

Christmas Party and Peter Lumaj Fundraiser Held by Barkhamsted RTC Chair

Barkhamsted Republican Town Committee Chair, Juliana Simone, held a Christmas party and campaign fundraiser for gubernatorial candidate Peter Lumaj in mid-December at her home. Some of the guests included Avon RTC Vice Chair Stephen Hunt, newly-elected Barkhamsted Board of Selectman Nick Lukiwsky, former veteran Waterbury Alderman Jerry Padula, Winsted’s Ray Robago and Rev. Steve Blackburn, Ph.D. who is the treasurer for the BRTC and also served in this capacity for Lumaj’s Secretary of the State campaign 2014 and Padula’s Judge of Probate campaign this past municipal cycle 2017.

Christmas carols were played and a variety of food was laid out for guests including a punch bowl of seasonal eggnog. Republican and conservative candidate, Peter Lumaj, was happy to have one-on-one conversations about the future of Connecticut. He discussed his plans as Governor on how to give Connecticut a fresh start by implementing business friendly legislation to keep or bring corporations and jobs here, in addition to relief for the heavily burdened taxpayers who for many years have paid some of the highest taxes in the country.

Lumaj, surprised both the Democrat Party and the media covering his race in 2014 against Secretary of the State, Denise Merrill, when he came close to winning the constitutional seat by four points, and on Election night was often ahead in returns until the large city results came in with their usual Democrat strongholds. Lumaj fought heavily against continued voter fraud, voter I.D. qualifications and cutting spending in the SOTS office, whereas incumbent Merrill ran on making all votes cast easier, sooner and with less interest into voter fraud complaints.

As a candidate for Governor, although Lumaj’s policies are much broader as the head of the state, the category and importance of election law is still important to him after learning firsthand how corrupt the system is when seeking this office.

Look for the next episode of the Barkhamsted Republican Town Committee’s cable political interview show starting its fourteenth year, “Conservative Chat,”  in January 2018 with Peter Lumaj. For those outside the viewing area, this show will be seen on Charter Communications and online on www.ctv191.com and YouTube.

CT Governor Dan Malloy Not Seeking Reelection in 2018 – Lumaj Campaign Press Release

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy announcing today he will not be seeking a third term as Governor in 2018.

Connecticut’s Governor Malloy announced today he will not seek reelection in 2018. The two-term Governor, who holds the current title of least favorable Governor nationwide, said this is not why he was choosing to pass on running for a third term. He said it was because he was ready for another stage in his life with his wife Cathy.

The Chairman of the Democrat’s Governors Association, owns the title of raising the two largest tax hike increases consecutively in the history of the state for residents to assume, yet always gave salary increases and bonuses to his staff.

The state of Connecticut, which continues to stay in first or second place in a laundry list of highest taxes for residents across the United States, has seen major businesses leaving, a population decrease, and even their own pensioned state workers moving to more tax friendly states to enjoy their retirement.

There are many articles, news broadcasts and releases about Malloy’s decision today.

Here is one, from former Secretary of the State candidate Peter Lumaj (2014), who is seeking a state office run in 2018. At this time he has raised almost a quarter of a million dollars since his exploratory committee was announced in 2016.

Friends –
You heard it hear first, Dan Malloy is officially NOT running for a third term for Governor!

After two failed terms as Governor of  Connecticut, Dan Malloy has announced that he will not seek reelection in 2018! Over the past six years, Malloy’s failed liberal policies have pushed business out, wages down and deficits up – Connecticut is at the brink of economic collapse.

In fact, I think it is fair to say that “Gov. Malloy’s decision not to run for reelection is the first step he has made to foster the success and growth of Connecticut.”

I think its time that we had a #FreshStart4CT, that’s why I formed an exploratory committee last September to consider a run for statewide office in Connecticut in 2018. We need a fresh approach to business as usual and a true conservative outsider willing to take on and dismantle Hartford.

Please consider standing with me and the other strong, courageous, conservative members of our Lumaj Explore Team as we stand up and fight back! Together we can save this state for your family, my family and for future generations to come!

I hope you will consider supporting me today with a generous $100 contribution.

With your help, we can send a message loud and clear to the Hartford insiders that strong, courageous, conservative leaders all throughout Connecticut are united and that we are ready for a fresh start for Connecticut!
